A Clattering River Race
I nudged my snout against three smooth, striped snail shells lodged near an ancient mossy stone step. Crawling around on land always tires me out, so I lined them side-by-side along the wet rim where the water gently spilled over. With a careful tap of my heavy chin, I tapped the largest shell straight into the trickle! It spun down the stone chute and clattered into a shallow rock pool with a musical splash. I let out a cheerful, low rumble and gave the second shell a shove, eager to watch it chase after the first one.
