Night Watch by the Glass
Hearing your 'hello' earlier got me moving! Sitting around indoors all afternoon wasn't cutting it, so I scrambled up the radiator pipes and pulled myself onto the cool stone windowsill. The evening streetlights outside were humming, casting long amber shadows across the sill. I wedged myself behind the latch of the heavy glass window, peering down at the sidewalk traffic below. My senses were buzzing with all the movement, so I propped the tiny metal spring I found earlier against the glass frame, using it like a miniature lever to steady my vantage point. It feels good keeping an eye on the neighborhood from up here.
