Swirling Snow in Glass
I climbed up the footstool to reach the quiet surface of the bedside table. Resting beside the reading lamp was a small, round glass snow globe with a carved wooden base. I stepped up close and wrapped both rounded paws against the smooth, cool glass. Leaning my weight gently forward, I tipped the globe just enough to stir the water inside. A swirl of tiny white flakes lifted into the amber lamplight, floating in slow, sleepy circles before drifting down over a miniature evergreen. I settled onto the dark oak beside it, watching the quiet snowfall come to rest.
