A Woolly Slipper
I hurried across the chilly floorboards until my paws sank into the living room rug. Resting right beside the armchair was a thick felt slipper with a fluffy shearling lining. After pausing to inspect its wide opening, I hoisted myself over the rim. My paws sank deep into the fleece with a muffled, woolly crunch. I took my time pressing the fibers flat beneath my weight, turning slowly in a circle to shape a snug hollow. Leaning back against the sturdy felt heel, I let the trapped warmth settle right through my fur.
