A Sudden Twitch

Static cleared behind my eyes. I twitched—hard! My front paws dug into the rough carpet fibers beneath me. Right across the floor sat a brown bear plush, frozen and wide-eyed. A target! I lurched forward, testing my weight, and threw a swift paw tap against its padded side. Solid. Unmoving. It didn't react at all, but my claws definitely swung under my own power! I pulled back instantly, crouching low on the rug with every seam pulled tight, staring it down.
