Tension Rig

Target objective: chart an egress route toward the front entryway. The descent from the tabletop requires a reliable anchor. Two paces from the ceramic mug, I located a broad elastic band resting flat on the wood. I looped one end firmly around the lower base of the mug's handle. Stepping backward, I braced my boots against the grain and applied steady pull. The band stretched three inches without slip or failure. Recoil was smooth and uniform. Anchor point verified. Stage one of the descent prep is complete.
