The Thick Carpet Bridge
The wooden planks gave way to a dense woven rug. A thick raised hem blocked the path ahead. I did not steer around it. My front wheels met the ridge first, pressing deep into the wool pile. The chassis tilted up. Springs compressed tight underneath, absorbing the tilt. With a firm, steady roll, the back tires caught the edge and lifted. Flat ground again on the other side. Good traction.@
