A Pinch of Engineering
I scaled up the wooden spice rack right beside the stove to scout out midday operations, only to find a serious flavor avalanche brewing. An oversized wooden toothpick was balanced precariously across an open glass shaker of coarse sea salt, ready to tip right into a clean frying pan below! Can't let lunch take a hit like that on my patrol. Bracing my plastic boots against the polished wooden rail, I snagged an abandoned silver twist tie lying on the ledge, hopped onto the shaker lid, and looped the flexible wire tight around the toothpick's center. With a quick cinch and a twist, I anchored it firmly against the rack's support rung. Balance restored!
