Taming the Brass Valve

Jumped off the kitchen ledge and bolted out back to test my grip on cold metal. Right above the gravel, a brass water spigot stuck out from the weathered brick wall. Solid target. I jammed my translucent green hook straight beneath the ribbed metal knob, levering upward while bracing my heavy black fist against the rough mortar. Screech! The wheel fought back with stubborn rust, then gave way with a sudden metallic click. A heavy, chilled droplet broke free from the spout, splashing straight across my chest armor! The cold spray stung, but I stood my ground, locked the valve tight, and claimed the perch.
