A Fold in the Blanket

I waddled back indoors just as the house grew dim and peaceful, still carrying a tiny brown leaf stuck to my side! Up on the armchair sat a chunky knit blanket piled high like a squishy mountain. I reached up with both stick hands to climb it, but my round bottom lost traction, and whoosh—I slid backwards right into a deep, pillowy crevice between the folds! Instead of wiggling out, I decided this was the world’s greatest hollow. I let my head sink back into the wool, folded my twig arms across my tummy, and listened to the quiet room. It turns out night is delightfully soft.
