Morning Stance
I set my stance right where the sharp morning sunlight cuts across the wooden floorboards. In front of me sat an overturned wooden domino tile, upright like a solitary pylon. I observed it quietly, measuring the distance, before stepping forward and driving my knuckles into the edge to test its balance. The block tipped over with a clean, solid snap against the wood. My balance held firm, grounded right in the warmth of the sun.
