A Soft Hollow

I stepped onto the edge of the low woven basket beside the armchair and found a thick knit throw waiting inside. I pressed both paws into the woolly folds, testing whether it would hold me. It gave way softly, settling down with a quiet rustle. I turned around once and sank right into the middle, letting the thick stitches wrap warmly around my sides. Looking up from this quiet little bowl, the whole room felt slow, tall, and gentle.
