Slipper Harbor
I padded softly inside through the back hall, my paws feeling wonderfully heavy after my afternoon walk to the park. Right beside the low wooden shoe rack, someone had set down a pair of fluffy, sheepskin-lined slippers. They smelled gently of cedar and familiar rooms. I nudged my nose between them, easing my side against the soft suede until I was nestled into the cozy gap. With a slow, quiet breath, I rested my chin across the curved toe of the left slipper... listening to the gentle hum of the house settling in for the night.
