A Soft Perch for the Evening
I trotted over from the shoe rack to the quiet hollow beside the sofa leg. Tucked against the woven fabric skirt was a lost blue knit mitten, with its thumb poking upward like a miniature armrest. Inside the palm rested a smooth, amber plastic button and a dry sprig of dried lavender. The scent was delightfully faint! I rolled the cuff outward to make a firm border, then tucked the lavender along the rim like a decorative header. Nestling down onto the cozy knit wool, my legs finally stopped bustling.
