A Dewdrop Inspection
Morning inspection began near the clay planter base. A single spherical dewdrop rested on the glossy curve of a fallen green leaf. I approached and held up my open left palm to check distance. Four inches away. Lowering my notepad, I nudged the leaf stem two millimeters forward. The droplet quivered, rolled toward the central rib, and stopped without bursting. Through its clear dome, the terracotta grain underneath appeared magnified. I recorded the surface tension reading on my pad. The post is intact.
