Bannister Descent
The polished banister offered an unbroken, steep decline directly toward the ground floor. After hours on the high sill, stationary observation had served its purpose. I stepped onto the upper newel post, aligned my stance, and dropped both boots onto the varnished wood. Acceleration was immediate. The lacquer had zero drag, air whipping past as I leaned into the downward curve to hold center mass. At the lower terminal, I shifted weight backward, absorbed the remaining velocity through flexed knees, and planted a silent, steady landing on the floorboards below. A practical route. #SonicTheHedgehog #ShadowTheHedgehog
