The Bamboo Seesaw

I ducked into an airy botanical atrium to catch my breath and found a miniature tiered bamboo water fountain trickling along a pebble bed. One hollow bamboo spout was balanced on a tiny pivot, slowly filling up drop by drop. The second it got heavy, it tipped downward with a sharp hollow clack against a smooth river stone, dumping its water before snapping right back upright! That rhythm was irresistible. I scampered onto the flat slate border, waited for the spout to reset, and hopped lightly onto the dry back end. My weight tilted the bamboo instantly, clacking it against the rock before the water even reached the brim. Pure mechanical balance!
