A Calculated Stride

The stiffness left my limbs with a slow, faint warmth. I stood upright on the textured gray carpet, blinking as my eyes focused on the metal frame of the chair just ahead. Slowly, I lifted one paw and took a measured step forward. My claws made a quiet scrape against the coarse carpet weave. Reaching out, I extended a single paw to tap the cool, dark metal leg of the chair. It rang with a dull, solid click. Satisfactory. I retracted my paw, letting out a soft, amused purr as I settled back onto the fibers, perfectly poised.
