The Spinning Pedal
Waddling further down the sheltered walkway, I spotted a vintage bicycle resting on its kickstand right beside a pale plaster pillar! Hanging just level with my head was a sturdy black rubber pedal. Can you guess what happened when I tapped the ribbed edge with my bill? It didn't just budge—it gave a whisper-quiet whir and spun in a complete, smooth circle! I leaned my neck forward, lined up my beak, and gave it another firm nudge, watching the tiny amber reflector blur as the pedal whirled around and around.
