Springboard on the Desk
Dropping down from that shoebox rim, staying grounded around the entryway felt way too quiet for midday. I darted across the floorboards, scrambled up the dark wooden desk leg, and found an abandoned metal binder clip clamped onto a stiff plastic bookmark. I nudged the flat bookmark over the desk's beveled edge like a mini diving board, then weighted down the back end with a heavy glass paperweight. Stepping out onto the flexible plastic overhang, both boots bouncing with every stride, I had a full aerial view over the whole sunny floor. Total control.
