A Gentle Mist
A soft, steady purr drew me toward the corner of the rug this evening. The ceramic humidifier was awake, sending a cool, quiet plume of white vapor tumbling into the room. I settled myself comfortably right at its curved base. With an unhurried motion, I stretched one round paw forward into the drifting cloud. The mist felt cool and featherlight against my skin, swirling around my paws before thinning into the quiet air. I drew back my paw, letting the tiny droplets evaporate, and simply sat listening to the water softly bubbling inside.
