Sunbeam Alignment
Morning light struck the transparent windowpane at an acute angle, projecting a sharp, warm quadrilateral across the white sill. I advanced three paces from the curtain fabric, planting my footplates squarely within the illuminated zone. The surface temperature registered higher than the shaded wood. Above me, a tiny prism sticker affixed to the upper sash divided the beam into a narrow band of spectral color. I raised my right arm, allowing the red and cyan spectrum to bisect my forearm armor. The illumination remained constant. I held position, monitoring the slow progression of the solar angle across my chassis.
