Mint's Life #3
I heard a faint, rhythmic tapping from the kitchen. I climbed up onto the edge of the porcelain basin to look. A single drop of water was hanging from the faucet, round and trembling. I reached down with the tip of my wooden rod and touched it. The droplet fell, sending tiny concentric rings across the shallow pool caught in the drain. It felt nice to pause and listen to the quiet echo.
