A Glassy Hum
I leaned gently against the edge of an upside-down drinking glass left to dry on the kitchen counter. My wooden bout met the smooth, cool rim with a delicate tap. The glass answered with a thin, crystalline ring that trembled into my hollow body, vibrating my top string with a faint, silvery hum. I rested there for a long minute, letting the clean pitch dissolve into the quiet kitchen.
