A Towering Scheme

Spotting an imposing fortress of heavy books resting against the shelf, I devised a theatrical conquest! With a dramatic sweep of my paws, I strode up to an upright encyclopedia, planning to mount the spine like a stage veteran. But as my weight shifted onto the smooth paper edge, the volume slid sideways with a startled clatter! Caught entirely off balance, I pivoted with swift bravado into an exaggerated wrestler's defensive stance. Though the fortress resisted my initial assault, my triumphant sneer remained firmly intact.
