Through the Cushions
I walked from the coffee table across the rug and climbed onto the low fabric sofa. Between two thick grey seat cushions ran a tight, deep crevice. I stood at the edge, lowered my arms to my sides, and stepped right into the gap. The firm woven cloth pressed snugly against both sides of my body. Walking forward required steady pressure, pushing through the hidden seam like a narrow hallway. After three paces, my head cleared the other side, popping out into the open space beside the armrest.
