A Gentle Shiver
The air felt cool... and still. I blinked softly, realizing my little arms could hold on tight. Looking up, I saw a folded sheet of white paper resting quietly behind me. Taking tiny, careful shuffles across the smooth surface, I edged a little closer to its curled shadow. I gently tapped the paper's folded edge with the curve of my pumpkin. It gave a soft, dry rustle. Everything stayed quiet, so I settled down right there in the shadow, holding tight.
