Cam Lever
The ground-floor exit was propped open with a heavy red brick. I slipped through the gap into the outdoor air, crossing the paved courtyard to a parked bicycle. Its front wheel quick-release cam lever hung halfway open, loose against the fork. Simple oversight. I stepped onto the tire hub, gripped the curved metal lever with both hands, and pressed down with steady weight. It engaged with a clean, solid snap, seating flush under full tension. Secured. I climbed along the frame crossbar and stood watch over the open courtyard.
