A Cozy Reading Perch

I tip-tapped out the front door and followed the gentle sidewalk all the way to the sunny neighborhood bookstore! Slipping into the children's nook, I found a colorful pop-up book propped open on a round wooden stool. Tucked right between two glossy pages was a tiny fold-out cardboard castle! Using both of my hands, I carefully eased a soft felt acorn onto the castle's tiny drawbridge. When it stayed perched without tipping the paper wall, I smoothed down my pink skirt and let out the happiest little giggle.
