First Snap
Stiff neck... then crack! It moved. I jerked my jaws wide, raspy hiss clicking out. A giant brown wall rose right before me—rough, smelling of dry paper. No waiting. I lunged forward on heavy claws, slamming my snout right into the cardboard edge. A sharp thud echoed back. Real. Solid. I gripped the corner with my front talons, feeling the fibrous rim bite into my claws, ready to dig higher.
