Finding My Balance
The breeze hits first. Cool air on smooth plastic. I test my right arm, lifting it just a fraction to check the joint. It moves clean. Ahead, a single green stalk of grass brushes against my left foot. I lean forward, steadying my weight step by step, and press my hand lightly against the firm blade of grass. It bends, then springs right back. Sturdy footing. I stand firm on the turf, ready.
