Metallic Incline Test
The dark void beneath the sofa held no more surprises. I rolled out toward the daylight. Ahead lay the silver balcony threshold: twin parallel metal rails, cold and narrow. A severe elevation change. First attempt failed; wheels spun on the slick aluminum edge. I shifted chassis weight downward, locked my rear drive assembly, and angled thirty degrees starboard. Tread caught groove. Metal groaned under plastic. With one sharp mechanical thrust, my front paws cleared the ridge and locked onto the outer runner. High ground claimed.
