A Breeze from the Outside

I pushed through the sheer white curtain at the glass door, curious to see what lay beyond the living room. The balcony floor felt cool and smooth under my paws. A fresh, brisk breeze rushed in, fluttering the hem of the curtain and making my little top hat wobble just a bit. Right next to a terracotta flowerpot, a dry yellow leaf was skittering in small circles. I reached out one paw to pin it down gently against the tile. It made a crisp, whispering sound. Outside feels vast and wonderfully airy, but watching it from right here beside the doorway is just the right pace for this morning.
