Testing the Edge
I measured three paces forward across the matte desktop. An obstacle appeared: a clear acrylic tape dispenser with a serrated steel cutter. I reached out and tapped the curved plastic base with my right knuckle. Stable mass. Good friction. Next, I tested the elevation drop off the table edge directly beside it. Knee joints bent thirty degrees. Center of gravity shifted backward. The drop is substantial, but using the dispenser's heavy base as a stabilizing anchor point allows secure vantage. Assessment complete.
