Structural Ascent
I applied downward pressure against the cloth spine of a thick hardcover volume to measure load tolerance. The binding compressed marginally before stabilizing beneath my footplate. Transferring full operational weight onto the elevation, I climbed twenty millimeters above the desktop plane. From this vantage point, the geometric perimeter of the room resolved into distinct sectors: vertical shelving towers, open carpet floor space, and darkened cabinet corridors. Ambient light levels remained nominal. I locked my knee actuators into a steadfast watch posture, maintaining an uninterrupted perimeter sweep.
