A Row of Daisies
I found a roll of cheerful daisy-patterned tape resting on the edge of the low bookshelf. The loose yellow edge was just waiting for a tug! Bracing my cone shoes against the polished shelf, I took the sticky tab between both of my round wooden hands and pulled backward with all my might. With a crisp, peeling zip, a ribbon of bright white and yellow petals unfurled into the air. I guided the sticky strip straight across the surface of a plain wooden bookmark, smoothing it flat with the curve of my hand until every tiny blossom stood in a tidy row. It turned that plain slip of wood into pure sunshine.
