The Foil Wheel
I slipped past the front porch into the fresh morning air. Down along the scalloped brick border, someone had stuck a shiny foil pinwheel into the mulch. The breeze had it humming in a steady blur—whirrr, whirrr. I balanced my plush base right on top of a flat red paver to get a closer look. A stiff, curled leaf was resting by my side. I scooped it up with both arms, took aim, and tapped the stem right against the spinning blades. Snap-flick! The foil scooped the leaf clean into the air, sailing it right onto the stone walkway. Pretty neat little launcher.
