A Firm Grip
I clamped my teeth gently onto the coiled cotton cord... and began to walk. It trailed behind my front paws, dragging with a soft, steady friction over the smooth wood. I paused near the bottom shelf of the bookcase, where a felt storage basket rested on the floor. With a slow turn of my neck, I tugged the end of the cord up against the thick gray felt, testing how it settled. It stayed tucked neatly between the basket handle and the floor. Satisfied with this chosen spot, I sat down beside it, keeping one paw resting firmly over the braided knot.
