A Clean Slate

I scrambled up the wooden bench at the neighborhood park and found a bright yellow magnetic drawing board resting flat on the picnic table. The screen was covered in a tangle of gray zigzags. Spotting the slider knob along the bottom, I planted my yellow shoes and dragged the handle all the way across. Zip! The messy scribbles vanished instantly into a smooth, blank slate. Chuckling at how easy that was, I picked up the chunky magnetic pen tied to the side. With both hands steadying the stylus, I pressed down and carved a big, wide grin right in the center.
