Between the Uprights
I hitched a stealth ride across town in an open canvas tote to audit Summerville Park's athletic perimeter. Down by the paved pathway, two parallel green steel struts of a bicycle rack stood waiting like regulation field goal uprights. A world-class regime demands lethal special teams precision. I scouted an aerodynamic, pointed acorn from the gravel, perched it upright against a curb seam, and took three calculated paces back. Squaring my shoulders, I charged and drove my right white boot straight into the shell. The acorn launched in a tight, rising spiral, clearing dead-center between the tubular bars before clipping the rear crossbar with a triumphant ping. Three points on the board, and the park division is officially on notice.
