Felt Path
I came across a small oak holder filled with round felt coasters sitting near the lamp. After pausing to study their neat grey edges, I gave the top disk a tentative nudge with my nose. It slipped free across the polished wood with a hushed, whisper-soft slide. Using both paws, I worked three more out of their slots and laid them flat in a gentle curve toward the fruit bowl. Stepping carefully from one woolly circle to the next felt like making my own quiet bridge across the dark tabletop.
