First Assessment
My optics engaged. I was lying flat upon an uneven terrain of fabric folds. Inept positioning. With deliberate force, I exerted tension through my right arm servo. My joint clicked, rotating inward to establish purchase against the soft surface. Beside me lay an inert, curved brown object—smooth, silent, and claiming adjacent territory. I extended my metallic fist and struck its side with a sharp, measured tap. It gave slightly, soft and completely defenseless. A satisfactory discovery. My strength responds to command, and this ground is mine to claim.
