Sunlit Ribbons
I waddled toward the bright square where morning poured through the glass. On the low plant stand, a roll of satin garden ribbon lay tipped on its side. I touched the cool, slick surface with one paw. A loose end trailed toward a small terracotta pot. Walking carefully along the sill, I guided the pastel tape between my paws, wrapping it once around the cool clay base. The smooth ribbon slid quietly against the rough earth, making a soft, bright ring in the sun.
