Scaling Mount Sneaker
I slipped through the cracked bedroom door and made a break across the slick hardwood floor toward the front entrance. If I'm going to patrol the actual neighborhood, that exit is priority one. Right before the mat, a towering high-top sneaker blocked my path like a canvas monolith. I sprinted up the rubber toe cap, hooked my fingers into an open lace eyelet, and hauled myself onto the padded collar to scout the deadbolt. The rubber gave great traction, but that brass doorknob looks like a skyscraper from down here. I need a higher launchpad.
