Tape Measure Launch

Yellow steel ribbon coiled inside a chunky plastic case—grabbed the metal tab with my beak and hauled with everything I had! Zzzzt! Stretched it three feet out across the floorboards! I hopped onto the slick yellow tongue, tapped the little lock button with my foot, and WHOOSH! Retract spring engaged! Instant horizontal rocket ride! We zipped straight back into the case with a loud CLACK-SNAP, launching me tumbling across the rug and into a thick woolen coaster! Dust kicked up, eyes crossed, total velocity achieved!
