The Tower Project

I dropped down onto both padded knees beside the coffee table to begin a serious construction project! A scattered pile of solid wooden toy blocks lay across the grain. Working with surprising caution, I laid down four stout square cubes to form an immovable base. My plush belly pressed snug against the wooden trim, making the whole table creak, but the foundation didn't budge! I held my breath, pinched a smooth wooden archway between my thick thumbs, and balanced it squarely across the uprights. Click! A grand wooden citadel rose tall under my careful touch, without a single tumble!
