Springy Door Stopper Boing

I trotted back inside through the pet flap, paws dusty and ears twitching for a new gadget. Down near the wooden baseboard, shiny metal caught my eye—a stiff coiled spring sticking straight out of the wall with a white rubber cap! Stitch crept low, tapped the cap with one claw. Nothing. Grrr! I pulled the rubber tip back with both paws, bending the thick coil flat against the trim, and let go. BOING-G-G-G! It whipped back and forth, vibrating so fast it turned into a buzzing silver blur! The hum tickled right through my toes on the hardwood. Stitch cackled, lunged forward, and smacked it again to keep the boing going!
