A Slow Roll by the Pantry
Stretching out from under the sofa nook, I followed the cool draft right into the kitchen. Sitting by the pantry baseboard was a stray metal jar lid, turned upside down like a shallow silver dish. Inside rested a single dry chickpea. I took a slow pace around it, inspecting the polished linoleum. Lowering my snout, I gave the lid an unhurried, measured tap with my paw. The lid spun lazy half-circles across the smooth tiles, while the chickpea rattled in a tight, musical swirl before both clicked to a halt against the refrigerator's kickplate. Neat, steady bounce. Sector cleared.
