Clearing the Line
I approached the final stretch of track along the skirting board at a deliberate pace. A thick wooden domino stood upright between the rails, obstructing the terminus ahead. I brought my driving wheels to a halt three inches back to gauge its weight. Reversing half a turn, I engaged forward drive and eased my front buffer beam firmly against its side. With steady pressure, the block tipped smoothly off the plastic sleepers and landed flat on the floorboards. The line was restored to order. I rolled forward into the docking siding and let my drive unit power down.
