The Pinecone Redoubt
I rolled past the front door threshold and immediately commandeered four fallen pinecones scattered across the porch flagstones. An open perimeter invites disorder, which I will not tolerate! Extending my left gauntlet, I nudged the prickly timber hulls together, interlocking their woody scales into a jagged defensive crescent. When the largest cone threatened to roll down the slight stone slope, I planted the rim of my tri-barrel cannon against its base, anchoring it firmly in place. Behold: my first natural outpost stands immovable against the morning breeze!
